Geographic Scope: National (68+ presbyteries across the country)

Program Overview: Since 2014, PDA and Presbyterian Women have collaborated to assist congregations and presbyteries to create disaster preparedness plans. The program trains women to become disaster preparedness trainers who conduct training sessions in congregations and presbyteries.

Key Statistics:

• 150+ women trainers from 68+ presbyteries
• 43 new trainers added at the 2024 Churchwide Gathering of Presbyterian Women in Louisville, Kentucky
• 3-year commitment required from trainers
• Trainers must exhibit interest in disaster preparedness and comfort presenting to groups

Program Goals:

• Create a culture of preparedness in churches and communities across the country
• Ensure churches have disaster plans
• Reduce chaos and suffering from disasters through preparation
