Pregnant Women's Program

Program Type: Prenatal education and support for pregnant women

Geographic Scope: Tippecanoe County, Indiana

Duration: Free, year-round program

Eligibility:

  • Pregnant women in Tippecanoe County

  • Program support extends through baby's first six weeks of life

  • Families are automatically enrolled in Early Head Start infant-toddler program once baby reaches six weeks of age
  • Program Overview:
    Bauer's Pregnant Women's Program provides soon-to-be moms with support and educational experiences aimed at promoting the health and well-being of mom and baby through the baby's first six weeks of life. The program includes:

  • Regular pre-natal education

  • Support from specially trained home visitor

  • Education on healthy pregnancy practices and understanding body changes and fetal growth

  • Automatic enrollment in one of two Early Head Start infant-toddler programs at six weeks postpartum

  • Participation in Bauer's Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)

  • Opportunity to elect representatives to Bauer's Policy Council

    2. Prepare Required Documents for Application Appointment:
    - Proof of Pregnancy
    - Proof of Address: Utility bill (gas, water, or electric) or lease
    - If utilities or lease are in another person's name, a letter from that person must accompany the bill or lease
    - Parent/Guardian's Proof of Income:
    - Last two pay stubs or letter from employer AND
    - Most recent W2 or income tax return OR last pay stub for previous calendar year
    - If Applicable: Documentation of Scholarships/grants, Child Support, TANF, SSI, Employment Letters, Unemployment

    3. At Your Application Appointment:
    - Share information about your pregnancy and family
    - Learn more about the program
    - Provide the required documents listed above

    4. Enrollment:
    - Receive support from specially trained home visitor
    - Participate in regular pre-natal education
    - At baby's six-week milestone: automatic enrollment in Early Head Start infant-toddler program
    - Participate in Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
    - Opportunity to elect representatives to Bauer's Policy Council
