The Precision Measurement Grant Program (PMGP), established in 1970 by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, invites applications for research in fundamental measurement and the determination of constants. This program aims to support innovative research addressing pressing scientific challenges and opportunities, fostering collaboration between researchers and NIST scientists, thereby enhancing the field of fundamental measurement. It provides crucial funding to pursue novel ideas that may lack alternative support.

The Precision Measurement Grant Program (PMGP) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for activities to conduct research work in the field of fundamental measurement, testing the basic laws of physics, and/or the determination of fundamental constants, with emphasis on pressing problems or emerging opportunities. By funding the research projects of eligible applicants through this program, NIST supports advances in fundamental measurement, the determination of fundamental constants, and fosters extramural collaboration with NIST scientists. The PMGP also is intended to make it possible for researchers to pursue new ideas for which other sources of support may be difficult to find. There is some latitude in research topics that will be considered under the PMGP.
