PPSC Foundation Giving Day

Status: First-ever Giving Day launched April 9, 2025

Date: April 15, 2025 (first event); portal open April 7 - April 30, 2025

Geographic Scope: Open to alumni, faculty, staff, students, and supporters everywhere

Purpose:
Dedicated to raising funds that directly benefit:

  • Student success

  • Academic excellence

  • Community well-being
  • Targeted Giving Areas:

      1. Foundation General Fund

    • Purpose: Unrestricted fund enabling quick response to emerging student needs
    • Focus: Housing insecurity support, childcare support, and other immediate barriers
    • Impact: Enables students to complete education vs. forced unenrollment

      2. Student Scholarship Fund

    • Purpose: Support for matching scholarships and named awards
    • Examples: Frank Macon Trades Scholarship, Chef Henry Trujillo Memorial Culinary Scholarship
    • Impact: Funds participation in specific trade programs, creates skilled worker pipeline

      3. Canvas Community Food Pantry

    • Services: Free food, personal hygiene items, clothing, and pet food when available
    • Impact Growth: Assisted 6,000 people in 2021; over 38,000 users by 2023-2024 academic year
    • Need: Growing demand for support services

      4. Military and Veterans Programs (MVP)

    • Target Population: One-third of PPSC student population are military, veterans, or family members
    • Focus: Wraparound services and education-focused programming
    • Support Areas: Academic, career, and personal goal achievement
