Power of Ten Program

Overview: A professional development program for early-career veterinarians offered by the Portland Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA).

Program Details:

Designed to provide support, tools, and guidance to early-career members for personal and professional development

Approximately 10 early-career veterinarians per cohort

9-month duration with in-person educational opportunities and activities

Most sessions held in-person at the PVMA office in SW Portland

Develop fundamental understanding of leadership skills, personal and professional goal setting, and emotional intelligence

Deepen understanding of communication styles and skills

Heighten self-awareness and maximize interactions with others

Gain competency to utilize skills within your life, practice, and community

Experience a supportive environment that fosters meaningful interpersonal relationships and collaborative, lifelong interactions

Eligibility:

Current PVMA member veterinarians

Graduated within the last approximately 8 years (2016-2024)

2025 graduates will be considered (recommended to complete intern year prior to participating)

Other candidates may be considered based on their level of interest

Program Costs:

PVMA provides all mentors, meals, and meeting expenses at no charge to participants
