Post-Secondary/Trade School Scholarship Program

Funder: Bluegrass REALTORS® Community Education & Outreach Committee

Overview: Scholarships for high school seniors pursuing post-secondary education or trade school programs in Kentucky. The program awards up to 10 scholarships at $2,000 each.

Award Amount: $2,000 per scholarship, up to 10 scholarships total

Geographic Scope: All students in the Association's 38-county jurisdiction in Kentucky

Focus Areas: Post-secondary education and trade school programs in Kentucky

    Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a high school senior graduating in the 2026 academic school year
  • Must reside in the Association's 38-county jurisdiction
  • Must plan to attend a post-secondary institution or trade school program in Kentucky
  • Must complete an essay (approximately 300 words) on the importance of homeownership and value of owning a home
  • Preference given to: Students who plan to major in business and/or real estate related field of study or attend a trade school

    Selection Timeline

  • Application deadline: February 15, 2027
  • Applications open: 4th quarter of 2026
  • Selection committee makes selections in March
  • Notifications to schools/guidance counselors by April 15
  • Association requests photo/video of presentation

Note: Scholarships are limited to 10 total and deadline will not be extended.

    Application Process

    1. Complete scholarship application form
    2. Write an essay (approximately 300 words) addressing: What is the importance of homeownership/value of owning a home?
    3. Submit application by deadline: February 15, 2027
    4. Selection committee will make selections in March
    5. Winners will be notified through schools/guidance counselors by April 15

  • Essay (approximately 300 words) on homeownership importance

  • Proof of high school senior status and graduation year (2026)

  • Proof of residence in 38-county jurisdiction

  • Statement of intention to attend post-secondary or trade school in Kentucky
  • Selection: Committee preference given to students planning business/real estate majors or trade school programs
