Policy Fellows Program
Funder: Nebraska Civic Engagement Table
Overview: Hires and places fellows at Member organizations for two years to increase the capacity of Members' policy efforts. Fellows receive training through Lobby School to build up their policy expertise and increase representation.
- Positions Available: 2 positions
- Duration: Two-year period from June 2026 through the end of the 2028 Legislative session
- Employment: Employed by Nebraska Table
- Placement: Housed with hosting Nebraska Table Member or Partner organization
- Salary & Benefits: Provided by Nebraska Table during contract period
Program Details
- Provide training to new advocates
- Build up policy expertise
- Increase representation in policy work
- Increase capacity of Member organizations' policy efforts
- Help organizations build capacity to keep the Policy Fellow on staff long-term if it's a good fit
Program Goals
- Develop a legislative plan with hosting organization
- Integrate grassroots strategies
- Center impacted voices
- Engage stakeholders throughout the program
- Advance policy in Nebraska state
Fellow Responsibilities
- Open to those interested in advocacy and policy work
- Those not already involved with an organization can apply and will be placed with a Nebraska Table Member or Partner
- Those already with Member organizations can apply

- Participants receive training through Lobby School program
- Dedicated training and mentorship provided
