PGE Foundation: Education Grant

The PGE Foundation offers an Education Grant aimed at enhancing educational outcomes through community collaboration. The foundation prioritizes programs that connect students with real-world experiences, foster essential skills, and promote diversity and inclusion. Organizations eligible for funding must be tax-exempt and based in Oregon, focusing on communities historically facing barriers. By supporting innovative education initiatives, the foundation strives to create pathways to higher education and career opportunities for young people.

The PGE Foundation works in collaboration with the community to help improve educational outcomes, inspire critical thinking through arts experiences and strengthen family stability.
We believe that education is the cornerstone of individual success and community vitality. That's why we're committed to partnering with organizations that provide young people with real opportunities for the future. Our goal is to offer students a clear pathway to higher education and/or a career.
If you're interested in submitting a proposal for an education program, consider:
Hands-on applied learning experience, specifically initiatives that connect students to the world of workCurriculum that engages students with goals and aspirations, provides opportunities for adult mentorship and measures age-appropriate development of essential skills (e.g., socio-emotional skills)Collective impact models that support system-wide transformation
We prioritize programs that use input from the community they're serving and intentionally focus on communities that have faced historic or systemic barriers in reaching equal outcomes.
Note: Multnomah County programs should indicate their efforts to achieve outcomes based on the shared metrics of the All Hands Raised Cradle to Career Initiative.

Eligibility

We award grants to:Charitable, nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations classified as 501 (c) (3) by the Internal Revenue Service or those with a qualifying equivalent statusOrganizations based in Oregon and serving Oregonians with priority to organizations located in counties where PGE has customers and power-generating plantsOrganizations, programs and services that are aligned with one or more of our three focus areas.Organizations that comply with our non discrimination policy

Ineligibility

We do not fund public K-12 schools directly.We do not consider requests for the following:Previous grant recipients who have not completed a final impact reportBridge grants, debt retirement or operational deficitsEndowment fundsGeneral fund drives or annual appealsRequests to support political entities, ballot measure campaigns or candidates for political officeRequests from organizations that discriminate, in services provided and/or hiring practices, based on race, religion, nationality, ethnicity, sex, marital status, age, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, veterans status or colorRequests from fraternal, sectarian and/or religious organizations, especially if the grant is intended for the principal benefit of the organization’s own members or adherentsAny activities or organizations for which support would violate IRS regulations for private foundationsDirect grants to individualsDirect support for library operations, or capitalTravel expensesConferences, symposiums, festivals, events, team sponsorships or user feesCapital expenses to purchase vehicles, office furniture, computers, etc.
