Classroom Grant Program The Pets in the Classroom grant program supports teachers in enhancing students’ educational and personal development through interaction with pets in their classroom. Pets in the Classroom is an educational grant program that provides financial support to teachers to purchase and maintain small animals in the classroom. The program was established by the Pet Care Trust to provide children with an opportunity to interact with pets—an experience that can help to shape their lives for years to come. The Pet Care Trust also established the Dogs in the Classroom program, which provides teachers with the opportunity to bring animal-assisted therapy to their classroom – an experience that also can help shape the lives of children for years to come. The Petsmart Grant is a ONE TIME ONLY grant. You may not apply for the Petsmart Grant more than once. After your initial grant, you are eligible to receive the SUSTAINING grant.Eligibility

Who Pets in the Classroom is forOur grants are for educators who teach pre-k through 9th grade students in either a public or private school in the US and Canada. But not only teachers can apply! We also invite librarians, guidance counselors, school nurses, school resource officers, daycare providers, etc., to apply for our grants. In order words, so long as you are in schools and supporting students’ enrichment and learning, you are a qualifying educator.Ineligibility
Who Doesn’t QualifyOur grant program aims to help young students and their teachers in the classroom setting. Therefore, 10th through 12th grade teachers, in-home daycares, and homeschools do not qualify.Focus Areas & Funding Uses
