Society of Toxicology Founded in 1961, the Society of Toxicology (SOT) is a professional and scholarly organization of scientists from academic institutions, government, and industry representing the great variety of scientists who practice toxicology in the US and abroad. The Society’s mission is to create a safer and healthier world by advancing the science and increasing the impact of toxicology. SOT operates under four guiding principles: Serving the needs of the scientific discipline and our members to enhance human, animal, and environmental health. Life-long learning and intellectual scientific stimulation. Diversity of representation in all activities of the Society. Integrity. BMSS Perry J. Gehring Biological Modeling Endowment Award The Biological Modeling Specialty Section (BMSS) will present the Perry J. Gehring Biological Modeling Award at the BMSS Business Meeting and Reception during the SOT Annual Meeting. This award is made possible by the Perry J. Gehring Biological Modeling Award Fund of the SOT Endowment, and it will consist of a plaque and a cash award. Research areas of interest include all aspects of biologically based modeling and simulation, including but not limited to: modeling of complex biological systems, biological insights gained through model development and application, model validation, and mathematical/statistical/computational approaches to biological modeling. Applicants for this award will be considered for all BMSS awards for which graduate students and postdoctoral scholars are eligible.

Eligibility

Any graduate student or postdoctoral scholar whose abstract has been accepted by SOT for a presentation at the upcoming Annual Meeting may apply. Students or postdoctoral scholars who are not SOT members must have a major advisor who is a Full or Associate SOT member.
