Our History and Mission The Community Foundation of Central Georgia was founded in 1993 by a group of citizens interested in encouraging philanthropy and strengthening communities. The Foundation provides donors a simple, powerful, and highly personal approach to giving. Through their funds, CFCG donors support the causes and organizations that they care about, which enhances the quality of life for the people of Central Georgia. Our vision is a Central Georgia where philanthropy thrives, communities are strong, and citizens work toward common goals. About Erwin A. Fiero, Jr. Erwin A. Fiero, Jr., known affectionately by friends and family as “Beetle”, was a native of Philadelphia, PA and attended Episcopal Academy, Franklin and Marshall College, St. Joseph College and Villanova University. As a child and young man, he was active in the Boy Scouts where he attained the rank of Life Scout, was a member of Order of the Arrow, and earned the Silver Beaver Award. While in Pennsylvania, he returned to Episcopal Academy and taught for twenty-seven years, shaping the lives of young people and others. Upon retiring in 1981, he relocated to Macon, GA and became a Holy Spirit parishioner and Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 205. While in retirement, Erwin returned to education by substituting at St. Peter Claver School, St. Joseph’s School, Mt. DeSales Academy and Holy Spirit CCD. Volunteering was Erwin’s passion. He continued to give of his time, talent, and treasure by tutoring and transporting the handicapped, delivering Thanksgiving meals to the elderly or seniors in personal care homes, and repairing homes throughout his community. Today, the generosity of Erwin lives on through the Perot-Fiero Foundation Fund of the Community Foundation of Central Georgia. Perot-Fiero Foundation Fund The Perot-Fiero Foundation Fund seeks to support organizations and churches that provide services to the community such as tutoring, meal or feeding programs, transportation, assistance to the physically and/or mentally disabled, and home repairs for those in need (through organizations, not to individuals). Areas of particular interest include: Children, Youth, and Families Education Health and Human Services Faith Based Organizations

The grant funds must also be used in Macon-Bibb County.While there is not a maximum grant amount per organization, there is a total amount available for grants each deadline. The total amount available for grants this deadline will be approximately $40,000.00Organizations will only be awarded funds once per 12 month period.
