Overview

General Information The Peanut Institute Foundation (TPIF) is a non-profit entity that funds peanut nutrition research. We are currently requesting proposals that increase our understanding of how the consumption of peanuts, peanut butter, peanut oil, peanut powder, and other peanut products affects human health. All novel and noteworthy proposals related to this topic will be reviewed. Some areas of interest include: Metabolic health (renal, hepatic, gut microbiome, etc.); Protein quality and digestion; Chrononutrition; Food as medicine/medically tailored meal interventions; Energy and vitality (eg., reproductive health in men and women, fitness, appetite, satiety, weight management, energy absorption or bioavailability, inflammation). Brain/mental health, cancer prevention, and child health/obesity are continued areas of interest. We are also interested in projects that incorporate themes of health equity, and healthy aging, and personalized nutrition. Other research areas that increase the understanding of peanut consumption and human health are also encouraged. A suggested minimum funding amount of $25,000 not to exceed $400,000 is requested. Funding Requests to continue multi-year projects can be submitted annually; however, the proposed budget for the project’s entirety must not exceed the award ceiling.

Eligibility
