Overview
Purpose: This scholarship honors the late Paul DeMartinis, a longtime friend of PBATS, Major League Baseball, and the athletic training profession. DeMartinis was the former Director of Sales and Marketing for Medco Sports Medicine and worked closely with PBATS members.
Eligibility:
- Athletic training students currently enrolled in:
- Professional degree programs
- Post-professional degree programs
- Post-professional residency programs
- Must be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the Athletic Training (CAATE)
Award: Scholarship to help pay for college tuition
History: First awarded in 2016; over 80 applications received in the inaugural year. Winners chosen through random drawing at MLB Winter Meetings.
