Patty Foell Scholarship

Overview: The Patty Foell Scholarship is a college scholarship awarded annually to a female metro Atlanta high school senior in memory of Patty Foell. The scholarship recognizes outstanding female student-athletes who excel both athletically and academically.

Award Amount: $2,500 college scholarship

Eligibility Requirements:
1. Must be a female metro Atlanta high school senior
2. Must be graduating in the year of application
3. Athletic activities must include track, field, or cross country
4. Must be a successful high school athlete with plans to participate in college athletics
5. Must demonstrate high academic achievement
6. Must be a student leader and role model
7. Must be involved in extracurricular activities and community service
8. Family monetary need is a consideration

  • Nomination Process:

  • Nominations only from: High school coaches

  • Coaches must nominate students; self-nominations not accepted
  • Award Details:

  • Scholarship funds are payable to the educational institution or to the recipient at ATCF discretion

  • Payment made after college acceptance and selection

  • Selection made without regard to race, age, religion, or other discriminatory factors

  • All ATCF decisions are final

    Application Process

    1. Nomination Requirements:
    - Who can nominate: High school coaches ONLY
    - Self-nominations: NOT accepted
    - Nominations must come from coaches of nominated athletes

    2. Nomination Submission:
    - Submit nomination by February 1 (subject to annual variation)

    3. Required Information in Nomination:
    - Athlete's full name, address, phone number, and email
    - Coach's name, address, phone number, and email
    - Athlete's best events and times
    - Athletic accomplishments
    - Academic accomplishments
    - Understanding of student's financial needs
    - Any other relevant information

    4. Selection Process:
    - Nominations reviewed by Atlanta Track Club Foundation Scholarship Committee
    - Qualified candidates may be called or interviewed
    - Award announcement made at annual Atlanta Track Club All Metro Track & Field Banquet (typically in May)

    5. Confidentiality:
    - All submitted information, including financial need assessment, kept confidential
