Patient Assistance Fund

Overview: Baptist Health Foundation recognizes a gap between what vulnerable patients need and what they can afford to regain their health. Created in 2016, the Patient Assistance Fund bridges this gap by providing direct financial and resource assistance to patients.

Eligible Uses

Patient Assistance Funds can be used to provide:
• Medical services
• Take-home medications
• Transportation
• Food, utilities, clothing and other basic needs
• Purchase of insurance
• Other needs as determined by the oversight committee

How It Works

• Each facility in the Brookwood Baptist Health system helps the Foundation identify patients and evaluate their needs
• Eligibility is based on the foundation's charity care guidelines
• Facility-based PAFs (Patient Assistance Funds) are managed locally
