  • Program Description:
    Scholarship established in honor of Katherine "Katie" Parsons Dwight, whose great-great-grandfather George Parsons was a prominent cotton merchant in Savannah before and during the Civil War. Dwight received money from a Parsons family trust and was inspired to establish scholarships for descendants of the enslaved in Georgia attending law school. Dwight is a Yale University graduate (History major) who worked as a death penalty investigator, pursued sustainable agriculture, and earned her J.D. from UC Davis. She has worked in veterans benefits law and immigration law, and co-founded Herd & Flock Animal Sanctuary.
