Community Foundation of the Ozarks The Community Foundation of the Ozarks (CFO) provides philanthropic leadership to build stronger communities. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life in our region through resource development, community grantmaking, collaboration and public leadership. We help donors achieve their philanthropic goals through professional management and investment of charitable funds. We work with nonprofit organizations to help them fulfill their missions through fund administration, grantmaking and learning opportunities. We award scholarships to deserving students to help them achieve their educational goals. Scholarship Programs The CFO manages more than 450 private scholarship funds created by individuals, families and companies that want to provide a path to higher education for generations to come. The CFO awards $1.7 million in scholarships each year for college, graduate and technical education. Ozarks Teacher Corps Scholarship Eight $4,000.00 scholarships; two from each school listed below Renewable for an additional one year; providing you maintain a 3.0 GPA, are enrolled in 12 credit hours and majoring in Education Undergraduate student entering junior or senior yearAgree to attend two mandatory professional development all-day workshops (one in the fall and one in the spring) Student must have graduated from a rural Missouri high school After graduating, the student must agree to teach for at least three years in a rural community Essay required Letter of recommendation from a professor in the Education department at your university If selected, you will be expected to sign a letter of commitment outlining the responsibilities and expectations of the Ozark Teacher Corps scholarship recipient which is listed in the above criteriaEligibility
