Geographic Scope: Texas (all Districts)

Topic for 2025-2026: "Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Its Impact on Education"

Overview: Scholarship award contest for high school students demonstrating outstanding achievements and leadership. This is one of three main contests sponsored by Texas Lions' Opportunity for Youth program.

Eligibility:

  • Open to all high school juniors and seniors

  • Scholarship awards must be collected no later than two (2) years following the recipient's graduation from High School
  • Key Information:

  • Students may enter multiple contests as long they meet qualifications for each

  • Part of Texas Lions Opportunity for Youth program

  • Contest held online to provide youth from all Texas Districts an opportunity to compete

  • Application Deadline: Monday, April 20, 2026 (postmark deadline)

  • Orientation: Saturday, May 9, 2026 – Via Zoom

  • Contest: Saturday, May 16, 2026 – Via Zoom

  • How to Apply

    Application Process

    1. Contact your local Lions Club to inform them of your wish to participate in the contest
    2. Download and complete required forms:
    - Common Contest Application Form
    - Medical Power of Attorney Form
    - Code of Conduct Agreement
    - Chaperone Guidelines (if providing a chaperone)
    3. Fill out forms in Adobe Reader
    4. Submit according to contest rules by Monday, April 20, 2026 (postmark deadline)

    Claiming Your Scholarship

    1. Submit proof of registration from a university, college, junior college, or vocational school
    2. Complete Scholarship Request Form
    3. Include supplemental information needed by the institution (scholarship forms, etc.)
    4. Send request to:
