Our Ancestors' Echoes Language Scholarship Grant

The Our Ancestors' Echoes Language Scholarship, administered by Sealaska Heritage Institute, supports Alaska Native shareholders and their descendants pursuing language studies. This scholarship covers tuition for one heritage language course in the Spring 2026 semester, promoting the preservation and revitalization of Alaska Native languages. Sealaska has awarded over 12,000 scholarships totaling over $26 million to enhance educational opportunities for its community.

Sealaska is dedicated to advancing the opportunities of its shareholders and descendants through leadership opportunities that include access to higher education and vocational training.
To date, Sealaska has awarded over 12,000 scholarships totaling over $26 million.
The scholarship program is administered by Sealaska Heritage Institute (SHI) on behalf of Sealaska Corporation.
Shareholders or descendants enrolled in an Alaska Native language course for the Spring 2026 semester. Sealaska scholarship recipients majoring in Alaska Native languages. This scholarship will cover the tuition for one heritage language course.

Eligibility

To qualify, individuals must meet the following criteria:
Alaska Native as defined as "Native" under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act 43 U.S.C. 1602(b).Enrolled to Sealaska Corporation, OR are Native lineal descendants of Alaska Natives enrolled to Sealaska Corporation whether the applicant owns Sealaska Corporation stock or not.Have a GPA of 2.0 for undergraduate, and 3.0 for graduate.
