Indigenizing Education for Alaska Scholarships Grant

Sealaska Heritage Institute offers the Indigenizing Education for Alaska Scholarships to support Alaska Native students pursuing higher education. This initiative aims to enhance educational opportunities for shareholders and descendants through financial aid. Eligible applicants include enrolled members of Sealaska Corporation or their lineal descendants, with minimum GPA requirements of 2.0 for undergraduates and 3.0 for graduates. Over $26 million has been awarded to date, reflecting Sealaska's commitment to education and community advancement.

About Sealaska's Scholarships
Sealaska is dedicated to advancing the opportunities of its shareholders and descendants through leadership opportunities that include access to higher education and vocational training.
To date, Sealaska has awarded over 12,000 scholarships totaling over $26 million.
The scholarship program is administered by Sealaska Heritage Institute (SHI) on behalf of Sealaska Corporation.
Full time or part time students at UAS, UAF, UAA, or APU as an undergraduate junior or senior or graduate student pursuing an education certificate or degree.

Eligibility

To qualify, individuals must meet the following criteria:
Alaska Native as defined as "Native" under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act 43 U.S.C. 1602(b).Enrolled to Sealaska Corporation, OR are Native lineal descendants of Alaska Natives enrolled to Sealaska Corporation whether the applicant owns Sealaska Corporation stock or not.Have a GPA of 2.0 for undergraduate, and 3.0 for graduate.
