About Us The Central New York Community Foundation is a public charity that receives contributions from private donors, manages them to grow over time and then distributes funding to local charities to help them thrive. Since our inception in 1927, we have invested more than $230 million in community projects that strengthen our local nonprofits and address the most critical issues of our times. We are the largest charitable foundation in Central New York. CNYCF Grants We offer a number of grant programs that seek to bring about positive change and impact while honoring diversity and building inclusion within and across our many communities. Oswego County Community Foundation We offer a wide variety of funding opportunities, the largest of which is our Community Grants program. Nonprofit organizations in Onondaga and Madison counties are encouraged to apply for grants to fund innovative projects in the areas of: arts and culture, civic affairs, education, health, human services and the environment. Types of Projects We support the following types of projects that promote community impact, capacity building and diversity: Capital Projects – including large scale capital campaigns, repairs and replacements, technology upgrades, and equipment/furnishing purchases Program – support for new and innovative programs, or the expansion of proven existing programs that address our community’s most pressing needs Organizational Development – including capacity building efforts around strategic planning, board development and succession planning
