Association for Women Geoscientists Osage Chapter Recipients of the service scholarships are AWG Osage chapter members who exemplify AWG's mission to encourage, exchange, and enhance by participating in outreach events aimed at educating and promoting women in geosciences. This project provides funding for female or make undergraduate and graduate students to cover academic expenses. The goal of this scholarship is to encourage and support students who are interested in the AWG mission of increasing participation of underrepresented groups in the geosciences through service to the community. We invite applications from geoscience students for merit-based scholarships of $500 to be used for research, tuition, or books. Scholarships are made possible by AWG Osage and AWG Foundation. This scholarship is funded in honor of Sean S. Thomson of Lawrence, Kansas for his invaluable support of the Osage Chapter.Eligibility

Who may apply?All currently enrolled graduate or undergraduate geoscience students (e.g. environmental science, paleoecology, geology, geoarchaeology, physical geography, geoscience museum studies, paleontology/evolution, hydrogeology, paleoclimatology, geophysics, etc.).Eligibility is restricted to AWG members. You can join AWG at the following link: https://www.awg.org/page/AWGMembership. You are welcome to become affiliated with the AWG Osage Chapter but affiliation with our regional Osage Chapter is not required for this scholarship.Must be enrolled in a University that is in the Osage region (Kansas, Missouri, or SE Nebraska).Ineligibility
