Overview

Oregon Clean Vehicle Rebate Program (OCVRP)

Program Status: Currently on waitlist due to exhausted funding. Anticipated reopening in March 2024 when funding is replenished.

Overview: The Oregon Clean Vehicle Rebate Program offers rebates for Oregon drivers and organizations who purchase or lease electric vehicles. It is not a tax credit. DEQ designed the Program to reduce vehicle emissions by encouraging the purchase or lease of electric vehicles instead of gas vehicles.

Rebate Amounts

Standard Rebate:

  • $2,500 off a new eligible vehicle with a battery capacity of 10 kWh or more

  • $1,500 off a new eligible vehicle with a battery capacity of less than 10 kWh

  • $750 off an eligible new zero-emission motorcycle
  • Charge Ahead Rebate:

  • $5,000 off a new or used eligible vehicle
  • Combined Rebates:

  • Standard and Charge Ahead Rebates can be combined for up to $7,500 toward the purchase or lease of a new eligible vehicle
  • Eligibility

    • Oregon residents purchasing or leasing new, eligible EVs
    • Oregon businesses, nonprofit organizations, or government agencies that have already purchased or leased a new, eligible EV
    • Low-income service providers (for Charge Ahead)
    • Qualified applicants who purchased eligible vehicles prior to May 1, 2023, will receive payment when the program receives more funding

    How to Apply

    Application Process

    Standard Rebate - Dealership Application:
    1. Apply at a participating dealership if purchasing or leasing a new, eligible EV
    2. Receive "cash on the hood" at the point of sale

    Standard Rebate - Online Application:
    1. Submit an application online if you did not apply at the dealership
    2. For Oregon residents who have already purchased or leased a new, eligible EV

    Charge Ahead - Dealership Pre-Qualification:
    1. Get pre-qualified at a participating dealership
    2. Apply directly when purchasing or leasing a new, eligible EV

    Charge Ahead - Paper Application:
    1. Complete Paper Application Form for eligible Charge Ahead applicants
    2. For applicants who have already purchased or leased a new or used eligible EV
    3. Low-income service providers may also use this method

    • Proof of Oregon residency (for individual applicants)
    • Vehicle purchase/lease documentation
    • Proof of eligibility (income verification for Charge Ahead)
    • Battery capacity specifications for new vehicles
