Program Description

A one-time award designed to support a specific wish or enrichment opportunity for a child. Each Little Wish request is tailored to meet the unique interests or needs of the child.

Eligibility

• Age: 6 to 18th birthday (or graduation from high school, whichever comes last)
• Status: Homeless, low-income, or in foster care
• Geographic scope: Whatcom or Skagit County residents
• Family eligibility: Available to non-Enrichment families; eligible family may receive up to three Little Wishes per calendar year
• Income verification: Required (eligible for free/reduced lunch under WA State OSPI Guidelines qualifies)
• Identification: Required for parent/guardian and child

Award Selection

• Selected using a Lottery System

Funding Priorities

Supports requests including but not limited to:
• School trip fees
• Summer camp enrollment fees
• Bicycle and helmet
• Special needs equipment
• Tutoring
• Computers
• School-related supplies (e.g., scientific calculator, ASB card)
• Sports fees and/or uniforms
• Cleats
• Other enrichment items unique to child's needs
