Context

In Minnesota, there are an estimated 931,000 family/friend caregivers. Many experience:
• Moderate to high physical and emotional stress
• Social isolation
• Financial impacts
• Employment challenges (reduced hours or job loss)

Caregivers who identify as women, LGBTQ+, and people of color experience negative impacts at higher intensity.

Eligibility

• Organizations providing caregiver support and respite services in the Twin Cities metro area
• Organizations must demonstrate ability to manage federal funds
• Community-based organizations and nonprofits

Evaluation Criteria

Applications are scored based on:
• Feasibility (35%): Clear articulation of how money will be used to deliver services; demonstrated ability to manage federal funds
• Community Connection (30%): Community engagement in service design; engagement of older adults and caregivers in defining needs
• Impact (15%): Clear articulation of service impact on caregivers' lives; strategies to leverage funding for added impact
• Equity (15%): Services/activities addressing inequities and disparities for BIPOC populations
• Leadership (5%): Program staff and organizational leadership reflect communities served
