The Oklahoma/Canadian counties HOME program covers up to $18,999 in down payment and closing cost assistance for income-eligible individuals and families. Assistance is a forgivable second mortgage with no monthly payments, forgiven after a five-year affordability period of owner occupancy (shorter than Oklahoma City's ten-year period). Sale, sub-lease, refinance or transfer before the affordability period ends triggers a full or pro-rated refund. Income guidelines run from $54,750 (household of 1) to $103,200 (household of 8). CAA of OKC performs Housing Quality Standards inspections at no charge; lead-based-paint and local code requirements apply. The page notes details apply only to the current grant contract.
