Ohio Department of AMVETS Service Foundation Scholarship

Number of Awards: 10 scholarships awarded annually

Geographic Scope: Ohio - applicant or veteran must live in Ohio

Eligibility:

• Veterans
• Children of veterans
• Spouses of veterans
• Grandchildren of veterans
• Graduating high school students and/or adults entering accredited college or university
• Minimum 2.5 GPA on 4.0 scale (or equivalent)

Award Basis: Scholastic aptitude and demonstration of financial need

Restrictions:

• Scholarships only awarded for attendance at accredited colleges or universities
• One-time scholarship (not renewable)
• No applications accepted from students with less than 2.5 GPA

Application Requirements

Deadline: April 1

Required Materials:
All of the following items must be received by the office with your application:

1. Copy of the eligible veteran's DD214 or discharge certificate indicating 'honorable' separation
2. Brief autobiographical statement outlining:
   • Why you desire the AMVETS scholarship
   • Your projected goals in life
3. Transcript (high school grades or current college transcript)
4. Good quality photo of yourself

GPA Requirement: Minimum 2.5 GPA on 4.0 scale (or equivalent)

Application Submission: Download the Scholarship Application from the website and submit with all required materials to the office by the April 1 deadline.
