Overview

Scrap Tire Grant Ohio EPA's Scrap Tire Grant Program offers Ohio businesses (for example, manufacturers, scrap tire recovery facilities, material processors) funding to create or expand scrap tire processing capacity and product manufacturing. Funds are also available for local governments and nonprofits to complete beneficial use projects that incorporate the use of ground tire rubber. Businesses are required to partner with a government sponsor to be eligible for a Scrap Tire Grant. Grant funds for business applicants are reimbursed only after project completion through the government sponsor. Scrap tire grants require a 100 percent match from the grantee. Grantees have 24 months to complete the project. Programs Scrap Tire Manufacturing and Processing Equipment:Maximum Grant Request - $300,000Project Examples - Equipment for creating or expanding scrap tire processing capacity and product manufacturing. Includes equipment for conveying, classifying units, metal detectors, primary and secondary shredding units, granulators, powderizer/cracker mills, magnetic extraction units, bagging equipment, skid steers, and front loaders.Scrap Tire for Civil Engineering or Construction Projects:Maximum Grant Request - $300,000Project Examples - Projects using scrap tires for drainage, backfill in construction projects or paving initiatives in civil engineering projects. Construction of trails, walkways, or ramps utilizing scrap tire material or use of pavers made of scrap tire material (ground tire rubber).
