Overview

Nurse Faculty Loan Program (NFLP)

Purpose: To help address the growing demand for qualified nursing faculty by providing financial support to students pursuing advanced nursing degrees who commit to nursing education careers.

    Eligibility

  • Must be enrolled in one of Nebraska Methodist College's advanced nursing degree programs:
  • - Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) - Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) - Doctor of Education (EdD)
  • Must intend to become a nurse educator upon program completion
  • Available to students from across the United States

    Award Details

  • Coverage: Tuition, fees, and books
  • Study Format: Available for part-time or full-time enrollment
  • Loan Forgiveness: Students may qualify for cancellation of up to 85% of loan principal and interest in exchange for four consecutive years as a full-time faculty member at an accredited school of nursing

Background

The program was established to address the aging population and changes in healthcare that escalate demand for more nurses. Additional nursing faculty are needed to provide education for the next generation of nurses.
