Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with funding recommendations typically made within two to three months of submission. Mission The North Tahoe Community Alliance (NTCA) collaborates to achieve economic health, community vitality, and environmental stewardship. Vision A distinctive, thriving destination with a sustained economy that benefits residents, businesses, and visitors. NTCA Emergent Grant The Emergent Grant Cycle is part of the TOT-TBID Dollars At Work program. It strategically allocates Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) and North Lake Tahoe Tourism Business Improvement District (NLT-TBID) assessment funds to support programs and projects that enhance community vitality, economic health, and environmental sustainability in the North Lake Tahoe region. The Emergent Grant Cycle supports projects/programs that are considered urgent and fall outside the Annual Grant Cycle (typically August-November). Funding Priority Areas Applicants will indicate which priority area(s) they are positively impacting from the alphabetized list below: Community Enhancement and Visitor Integration InfrastructureCommunity and visitor enhancement for the enjoyment of all.Environmental Stewardship and Human Impact MitigationMitigation of the impacts of humans on our community and environment & enhancing and protecting environmental sustainability.TrailsEnhancing recreational trail use and connecting neighborhoods in non-automotive ways.TransportationEnhancing efficient transportation throughout the region.Workforce HousingCreating a sustainable community through making housing affordable.

Eligibility

The Emergent Grant Cycle application supports projects/programs that meet ALL of the following criteria: Meets the minimum eligibility requirements.Aligns with one of the priorities of the TOT-TBID Dollars At Work program. Demonstrates a clear and compelling need for immediate funding and explains why it cannot wait until the Annual Grant Cycle. Addresses an emergent, urgent, or short-term opportunity in the North Lake Tahoe community. And one or the other of the following criteria: New projects/programs not previously approved through the TOT-TBID Dollars at Work Program with a maximum funding request of $150,000. New housing projects/programs are an exception to this criteria. NTCA will review all housing projects/programs submitted through the Emergent Grant Cycle.Projects/programs previously approved under the TOT-TBID Dollars At Work Program AND under contract.Applicants may submit multiple requests throughout the year. However, approval of one request does not guarantee future funding.
