Purpose The Foellinger Foundation Nonprofit Board Member Leadership Award recognizes outstanding leadership by nonprofit board members whose organizations have been grantees of the Foellinger Foundation within the last five years. This award emphasizes the significant role of individual board members in leadership of nonprofit organizations. This award recognizes nonprofit board members who exemplify at least three of the fourareas of effectiveness established by the Foundation: GovernanceLeadershipFinancial SustainabilityProgram Impact Award The Nonprofit Board Member Leadership Award will be awarded to one current or recently retired board member who has demonstrated excellence in nonprofit board leadership. The award will provide an operating grant of $25,000 operating to the recipient’s nominating organization.

Eligibility

Must be a current or recently retired board member of a nonprofit organization that has been a grantee of the Foellinger Foundation within the last five years.Must be a current board member that has served for at least three consecutive years or a retired board member who has served for at least three years and has been off the board no longer than one-year, effective December 31, 2024.An organization may not nominate the same person more than once in a three- year period. This does not prevent the person from being nominated by a different, unaffiliated organization during that time span.Must not be on the Foellinger Foundation’s board of directors or one of its standing committees.Must demonstrate a strong track record of effective leadership aligned with the Foellinger Foundation’s values: integrity, stewardship, excellence, and respect.Organization must be in good standing with the Foundation, meeting all grant reporting and compliance requirements.
