NJ Specialty Crop Block Grants

The New Jersey Department of Agriculture invites applications for the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program, funded by the USDA. This initiative aims to enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops, which include a variety of fruits, vegetables, nuts, and horticultural products. Eligible projects should focus on improving marketing and research related to these crops. This program supports the growth of agriculture in New Jersey by fostering innovation and sustainability in the specialty crop sector.

The New Jersey Department of Agriculture (NJDA) requests applications for funding made available through the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Marketing Service’s (AMS) Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP) to carry out projects that enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops.
For the purpose of this grant program, “specialty crops” are defined as: vegetables and fruits, including grapes for wine, nuts, horticultural products including Christmas trees, honey, herbs, potatoes, sweet corn, and other specialty crops, including algae.
