NIEHS CCCHST/PETE Program

Program Name: Community and College Consortium for Health and Safety Training (CCCHST), administered by the Partnership for Environmental Technology Education (PETE)

The CCCHST has training components for:

  • Response to spills and releases of hazardous materials

  • Curriculum developed by Hazardous Materials Training and Research Institute (HMTRI), Davenport, Iowa

  • Train-the-trainer model

    • Membership:
    Consists of community colleges partnered with business, industry, universities, and community-based organizations

    Support Provided:

  • CCCHST members charge for courses in their local area

  • Instructors receive small reimbursement for reporting course numbers

  • Instructor Refresher training offered at colleges across the nation (at least every two years)
