Our Approach to Funding

New Hampshire Children’s Health Foundation concentrates funding in five priority areas and employs both Directed (by invitation only) and Responsive (in response to proposals) grantmaking.

Our Responsive grant awards are made for General Operating Support for the day-to-day work of organizations aligned with one of our other priorities and strategies listed below. Our Responsive grants are made twice each year.

Active Living Priority

New Hampshire Children’s Health Foundation awards grants to support nonprofit organizations, coalitions, and other tax exempt entities that advance our funding priorities and strategies. Our priority populations are children up to age five and their families.

* Priority:
* Promote access to community level physical activity for young children and families through policies or planning.
* Funding category:
* Responsive
* Strategies:
* Inform and implement local level policies, practices or plans that improve access to community-level physical activity for young children and families.
* Example: This may include creating or improving access to parks and other recreation areas as well as sidewalks, crosswalks and pathways.
* Data collection, analysis, planning or advocacy to inform and build support for state and local policies to improve community-level physical activity.
