About Us Mission The mission of CKCF is Building Stronger Communities Through Charitable Giving. Located in Newton, CKCF is a host foundation to 18 affiliates in the central Kansas region, supporting rural philanthropy. History The CKCF based in Newton, Kansas is thriving as a viable community foundation serving Newton while also being host to numerous affiliate community foundations throughout central Kansas. The Central Kansas Community Foundation was originally founded in 1994. Following a stable history serving a tri-county area the foundation merged in 2009 with the well-established Greater Newton Community Foundation. Today, the CKCF continues to demonstrate a commitment to strengthening communities across the entire Central Kansas region. Newton USD 373 Academic Enhancement Fund The USD 373 Academic Enhancement Fund, endowed through Central Kansas Community Foundation, Newton, opens on Monday, March 1, 2026, and aims to support USD 373 Newton teachers and staff each year by providing money to support classroom resources and /or projects for USD 373 students. We know that in a time of conservative spending teachers may have classroom needs and/or opportunities that are outside of your annual classroom budget. Grants may be submitted individually or collaboratively as a team. Fund requests should be a minimum of $500 up to $4,000. Project Criteria The project should relate to innovative instructional practices that enhance and improve the academic program in the Newton School District. Your proposal should describe the project and its goals for student learning. Technology requested in this proposal must be among district supported equipment. Contact ETC prior to submission.
