Newman Foundation: Faith in Action Grant

The Newman Foundation's Faith in Action Grant aims to support Catholic student ministry and community outreach in Kentucky. With a history of over 4 million dollars awarded since 1973, the foundation encourages innovative projects that promote worship, fellowship, and service. Eligible applicants include students from Newman Center sponsored groups and Catholic clubs. Grants range from $500 to $1,000, with a commitment to enhance spiritual development and provide resources for impactful initiatives.

Newman Foundation, Inc. (NFI) is an independent nonprofit corporation that seeks to deepen and integrate spiritual, intellectual, and personal development through the Newman Apostolate in the state of Kentucky by providing financial support and initiated programs.
NFI will promote, foster, and support a parish-affiliated, community active and campus-recognized Newman group on each of the campuses in the Catholic Diocese of Lexington as well as the Archdiocese of Louisville and the dioceses of Covington and Owensboro.
In 2021, NFI decided to expand its mission to include colleges throughout the state of Kentucky and is working strategically to achieve that goal.
As a non-profit organization, we rely on generous donors and others to give of their time and talent to organize events, fundraise, and make things happen! These board includes students, campus ministers, clergy, religious and lay men and women who bring special skills and insights to the organization.
From college professors to judges and lawyers, from accountants to doctors, from students to caterers, the Newman Foundation, Inc. Board of Trustees brings its diverse talents together for the good of the community!

Faith in ActionGrant Program
Newman Foundation, Inc. Grants Program supports Newman Centers and Diocesan-wide projects facilitating one or more of its goals of worship, fellowship, and service that are consistent with the NFI mission statement.
Purpose: Projects, events, or ideas that facilitate service, fellowship, or worship consistent with the NFI mission.
Grant Amounts:

• Up to $500 (quick award determination)
• $500 – $1,000 (two month lead time needed)

Eligibility

Individuals (especially students) from Newman Center sponsored groups, Catholic clubs/groups in KY that are part of (or have the potential to be part of) the Newman Apostolate and organizations affiliated with the Catholic Diocese of Lexington are eligible to apply.
