New Jersey Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NJ NSGP) The New Jersey Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NJ NSGP) provides funding to eligible nonprofit organizations across New Jersey, as described under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, at the greatest risk of terrorist attacks.

Eligibility

Funding must be used exclusively to hire security personnel and is limited to federal, state, county, or municipal law enforcement officers; active special law enforcement officers appointed pursuant to P.L.1985, c.439; or security officers registered pursuant to P.L.2004, c.134.This funding may not be used to supplant expenses for an organization’s current security personnel but may be used to supplement additional security personnel needs based on identified risk. Under special conditions, the use of security personnel may be used for off-site events within the geographic boundaries of the State of New Jersey for which the nonprofit has planned and has legal responsibility. Project funding requests can be submitted to NJOHSP consistent with the following requirements. Eligible Applicants:Registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations determined to be at a high risk of terrorist attack within the State of New Jersey as determined by the Director of NJOHSP.

Ineligibility

The use of other personnel for security purposes that do not fit the above description is not eligible under this program.
