NC Arts Council Grassroots Arts Program (GAP) Subgrant

Funder: North Carolina Arts Council (distributed through Tryon Fine Arts Center)

Program History: Since 1977, the N.C. Arts Council's Grassroots Arts Program has provided North Carolina citizens access to quality arts experiences. The program distributes funds for the arts in all 100 counties of the state primarily through partnerships with local arts councils.

Geographic Scope: Polk County, North Carolina (and statewide through regional arts councils)

Eligible Applicants: Local arts organizations in Polk County (administered by Tryon Fine Arts Center as the designated Polk County Arts Council)

Eligible Uses: Funds may be used for a variety of projects, including:

  • Conducting quality arts programs

  • Operating an arts organization

  • Arts programming and initiatives
  • Recent Recipients (2024-2025):

  • Tryon Children's Theater - Super Saturday

  • Tryon Arts & Crafts School

  • Tryon International Film Festival

  • Polk County Film Initiative

  • The Laurel Lakes Music Society

  • Mountain Song Community Chorus

  • Tryon Little Theater

    - Hand deliver to TFAC office
    - Email to info@tryonarts.org
