With this mission our focus is to: Encourage charitable givingHelp individuals and families manage their philanthropic givingEstablish endowment funds to benefit local nonprofitsMake strategic grants to Long Beach nonprofits Grant Purpose National Philanthropy Day is an initiative that honors charitable work across the country. To support this philanthropic commitment locally, LBCF annually funds a nonprofit organization who leads a one-day volunteer project that beautifies the exterior of a building that directly service their members. This support creates an opportunity for LBCF board members, staff, fundholders, and community partners to work alongside a nonprofit’s board, staff and supporters to literally roll up their sleeves, and make a meaningful and personal impact on the community.

Your project will….Beautify the exterior of a publicly visible site in Long BeachBe completed in one day by resident volunteersHave a budget of around $5,000Have a significant “before and after” improvement effectHave active participation and financial support from the organization’s board, staff and volunteers on the day of the eventBe a “shovel ready” project that can be carried out on or around November 15, 2025 and maintained by your organization moving forward
