National Philanthropy Day Grant Program

The National Philanthropy Day Grant Program, managed by the Long Beach Community Foundation, aims to enhance community service through a one-day volunteer project. This initiative supports local nonprofits in beautifying their facilities, fostering collaboration among community partners, and promoting charitable giving. Eligible organizations must be 501(C)(3) nonprofits based in Long Beach, with projects that can be completed in one day, demonstrating significant impact and community involvement.

Grant Purpose
National Philanthropy Day is an initiative that honors charitable work across the country. To support this philanthropic commitment locally, LBCF annually funds a nonprofit organization who leads a one-day volunteer project that beautifies the exterior of a building that directly service their members.
This support creates an opportunity for LBCF board members, staff, fundholders, and community partners to work alongside a nonprofit’s board, staff and supporters to literally roll up their sleeves, and make a meaningful and personal impact on the community.

Eligibility

The Long Beach Community Foundation only makes grants to US-based approved 501(C)(3) nonprofit, educational, or governmental organizations located in Long Beach who are in good standing with the IRS.Project RequirementsIf your nonprofit or educational institution owns a building that directly serves your members, and you can answer “yes” to the six required criteria below, we’d love to hear from you!
