NOTE: American Chemical Society The ACS National Awards program is designed to encourage the advancement of chemistry in all its branches, to support research in chemical science and in industry, and to promote the careers of chemists. The Thomas H. Parliment Award for Advances in Flavor Chemistry was established in 2024. The first award will be given in 2026. Purpose To recognize a scientist who has significantly contributed to the advancement of flavor chemistry. The award will consist of $20,000, a medallion, and a certificate. Up to $2,500 for travel expenses to the meeting at which the award will be presented will be reimbursed. Nakanishi Prize To recognize and stimulate significant work that extends chemical and spectroscopic methods to the study of important biological phenomena. The prize consists of $5,000, a medallion with a presentation box, and a certificate. Up to $2,500 for travel expenses to the meeting at which the award will be presented will be reimbursed. Presentations in odd-numbered years are administered by the ACS and presentations in even-numbered years are administered by the Chemical Society of Japan. The medallion will be presented during the award address.
