NAFC Open Grant/Product Donation Applications The National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFC) is the only nonprofit 501c(3) organization whose mission is solely focused on the issues and needs of the medically underserved throughout the nation and the more than 1,400 Free and Charitable Clinics that serve them. The NAFC has earned the Platinum Seal of Transparency from GuideStar and a 4-Star rating from Charity Navigator. Founded in 2001 and headquartered near Washington, D.C., the NAFC is working to ensure that the medically underserved have access to affordable quality healthcare and strives to be a national voice promoting quality healthcare for all. NAFC Healthcare Services Expansion Fund The NAFC Healthcare Services Expansion Fund supports the launch or expansion of clinical programs and new service areas that increase access to care for underserved patients. This funding is designed to help NAFC members introduce new services or grow existing programs that address unmet community health needs and improve access to comprehensive, patient-centered care.

Eligibility

Please note the following grant policies, applicable to all NAFC grants:Eligibility includes organizations being members of the NAFC in good standing.Grant awards will depend on the scope of the project and related budget justification.Generally, grants cover a one-year period from their receipt.Grant awardees will provide a 6-month and 12-month online report to the NAFC that will be measured against metrics submitted in the original proposal.Requested funds may only be used for the specific project request.NAFC Healthcare Services Expansion FundApplicants must maintain active membership status throughout the application and grant period.Grantee organizations will receive one payment between $30,000 to $50,000 from the NAFC; the grant award will depend on the scope of the project and related budget justification, covering a one-year period from its receipt.There is no limitation on the funding amount requested that goes to salaries or overhead expenses necessary to run the program.Examples of patient care funding include:Behavioral health servicesWomen’s health programs (e.g., prenatal care, cancer screening, contraception access)Food as Medicine or nutrition programsMedication access or pharmacy service expansionTelehealth or virtual specialty care programsChronic disease management programs (e.g., diabetes, hypertension)Dental, vision, or specialty care expansionPreventive care and screening initiativesMobile clinic or outreach-based clinical servicesIntegrated care models (e.g., primary care + behavioral health) You must be a member of this organization to apply for this award - become a member. Ineligibility

Funding is not permitted to be reallocated or used for university or parent organization general or indirect overhead costs.Awards cannot be used for the following:Debt retirementCosts already encumbered or to be reimbursedLobbying and political activities Capital campaigns/improvements Evangelical work by religious organizations Individuals Scholarships for individualsFundraising drives/events,Events/Conferences production Endowment funds Travel
