Program Name: N.I.C.K.'S Scholarships (Nothing is Impossible for Cancer Kids)

Geographic Scope: Florida (primary focus on South Florida)

Focus Areas:

• College scholarships for young cancer survivors
• Support for cancer patients who have beaten their disease

Eligibility:

• Young adults who have beaten cancer
• Individuals impacted by cancer pursuing higher education

Award Amounts: $500 - $2,500 per year

Background:

• Established by the Chiera Family Foundation as part of their N.I.C.K.'S initiative
• Named in tribute to Nicholas Chiera, the founder's father who passed away from cancer
• Over 25 young adults have been supported to achieve their college dreams
• Scholarship recipients include students at major Florida universities (University of Miami, University of Florida, Florida State University, Florida Atlantic University, and others)
• Some scholarship recipients have gone on to medical school and careers in oncology and social work
