Munson Foundation Grant Program

The Curtis and Edith Munson Foundation offers grants focusing on the conservation of natural resources in eastern North America and the Caribbean Basin, particularly in the U.S. Key areas include marine resource management, South Florida ecosystems, and Alabama environmental issues. Grants are site-specific, require a 1:1 match, and are not available for individuals or capital campaigns. Initial inquiries should be submitted by the first or second Friday of April or September.

The Curtis and Edith Munson Foundation began making grants in 1987-88. Over the past two decades, we have emphasized partnerships, collaborations, and seed funding for new projects and organizations within the framework of our programs as defined by our guidelines and priority setting by our Board.

Eligibility

Site specific grants are limited to South Florida and Alabama.Most grants are restricted and require 1:1 match (over the course of the year following receipt of the grant) and confirmation that 100% of your organization's Board of Directors are financial donors (in the most recent fiscal year).

Ineligibility

No grants to individuals or endowment funds. Grants to capital campaigns are given lowest priority.
