MPRPD Transportation Grants

The MPRPD Transportation Grants, funded by the Community Foundation for Monterey County, aim to enhance access to recreational, environmental, and cultural education in Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito Counties. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, schools, and public agencies that receive a Special Use Permit from MPRPD. The grants cover transportation-related costs for group visits to MPRPD parks, aligning with the mission to promote education and protect natural resources.

Monterey Peninsula Regional Park District (MPRPD) established the Transportation Grant Fund of the Community Foundation for Monterey County to increase recreational, environmental, and cultural education access to the Park District’s natural areas, open spaces, museums, working landscapes, and cultural sites while supporting the MPRPD mission and values to have accessible open space for education and recreation enjoyment and protection of natural and cultural resources, native habitat and wildlife.

To increase recreational, environmental, and cultural education access to the Park District’s parks and reserves.

Eligibility

Transportation grants are open to 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations, schools, school districts, and public agencies based in and serving Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito County residents. All organizations must have received a Special Use Permit from MPRPD and/or have an approved MOU with MPRPD. Activities must occur on MPRPD properties specifically supporting MPRPD’s mission and the Transportation Grant’s purpose.Transportation grants will be considered for transportation-related expenses for group visits or field trips to MPRPD’s park or preserve. Ineligibility
