Monterey County Fire Relief Fund Grants (Community Foundation for Monterey County)

The Monterey County Fire Relief Fund supports 501(c)(3) nonprofits and public agencies assisting individuals and families affected by fire, evacuations and temporary loss of work. The grant range is $2,000-$30,000, applications are by invitation only, and decisions are made 'as needed' rather than on a fixed cycle. Recent grants include Big Sur Health Center ($30,000 for healthcare services for uninsured patients), Community Association of Big Sur (three awards of $30,000, $50,000 and $50,000 for Timber and Plaskett Fire immediate relief and general supplies) and The Big Share ($30,000 for Timber Fire food support).

Read the grant guidelines, then submit through CFMC's online grants manager. Applications are by invitation only from organizations with existing programs, demonstrated engagement with local residents and recent successful outcomes; CFMC notes additional applications may be accepted as the program grows.
