Geographic Scope: Global (international researchers eligible)

Eligibility: Researchers with competitive, peer-reviewed proposals focused on myeloproliferative neoplasms

Organization: Joint partnership between MPN Research Foundation and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

Background: The MPN Challenge is the leading funding source for competitive MPN research grant applications worldwide. The program focuses on discovering factors that induce fibrosis in bone marrow and identifying opportunities to arrest and reverse this fibrosis.

• Catalyzing areas of science not being stimulated by other funding sources
• Opening the door to new potential treatments

Organization Info: MPN Research Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit (Tax ID: 36-4330967) based in Carol Stream, IL. To date, MPNRF has awarded over $18 million and funded 90+ research projects.

Application Process

Review Process:

• Competitive, peer-reviewed process
• Review by Scientific Advisory Board (SAB)
• Grant scoring guidelines developed by NIH
• Both written and in-person reviews
• Extended panel of reviewers may be used when needed

Evaluation Criteria:

• Scientific quality and potential for impact on MPNs
• Potential for catalyzing new areas of science
• Potential for transformative effects on patient care and treatment
• Ability to leverage limited funds for maximum benefit
