NOTE: Proposals are received on a continuing basis. However, to allow for preliminary screening and Grants Committee review, proposals should be received by August 31 for consideration at the fall Board meeting and by February 28 for consideration at the spring Board meeting. Monticello College Foundation Grant The mission of The Monticello College Foundation, based on our 1843 charter, is “the promotion of female education.” In this regard the Board of Trustees is interested in funding projects or programs that provide educational opportunities and experiences for women.

Eligibility

Professional educational associations, agencies servicing women’s education and accredited degree-granting two and four-year colleges and universities are eligible to apply for grants providing the entity:Qualifies as tax-exempt under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 or corresponding provisions of any subsequent Federal tax law. Does not fall within the definition of a private foundation. Is organized and operates within the Midwest Region as listed in preferences.

Ineligibility

Although the Foundation intends to remain flexible; the following are guiding principles.Requests not considered for funding include:Direct grants to individuals.Grants for capital purposes, current operating expenses, endowed chairs and exchange students.Support for Social Service Agencies.Online scholastic programs.
