Montgomery Family Fund Grant

The Montgomery Family Fund Grant, honoring the legacy of biology teacher Allen Montgomery, supports initiatives in conservation, recreation, the arts, and assistance for individuals with special needs in Shiawassee County. Grants are available to tax-exempt organizations, schools, and municipalities that aim to foster community development and support. This fund continues Mr. Montgomery's commitment to enriching the lives of students and residents through meaningful projects.

The Montgomery Family Fund honors Allen Montgomery, an Owosso High School biology teacher who will always be remembered by his students as a tennis enthusiast who carried racquets in the trunk of his car and would provide one to any student showing interest. The tennis courts at Emerson School in Owosso are named after Mr. Montgomery.
The purpose of this fund is to award grants for programs or projects that will benefit conservation, recreation, the arts, or people with special needs in Shiawassee County.

Eligibility

Grants are awarded to qualifying organizations including non-profits that are tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, schools, municipalities, and other governmental entities that serve a charitable purpose.
