Modernism Week Scholarship Program

Overview: Modernism Week's proceeds provide scholarships to local students pursuing college educations in architecture and design-related fields, in addition to supporting local and state preservation organizations and neighborhood groups in their efforts to preserve modernist architecture.

Partner Organization: OneFuture Coachella Valley provides matching funds and engages the community to improve student achievement and prosperity through education.

Award Amounts:

  • Up to $1,000 for community college students

  • Up to $5,000 for university students

  • Awards may be used for tuition, books, living costs, and related college expenses

  • Eligibility Requirements

    Residency:

  • Must be permanent residents of the Coachella Valley for the past three (3) consecutive years
  • Education Status:

  • Must be enrolled full-time in a Coachella Valley high school (for high school applicants)

  • OR must enroll full-time in a non-profit accredited college, university, or academic institution in the U.S. (for college applicants)
  • Academic Performance:

  • Minimum of 2.0 GPA and above for high school students

  • Minimum of 2.5 GPA for third- and fourth-year college students
  • Prior Education:

  • Must have attended a California high school for a minimum of three (3) consecutive years

  • Must have graduated or completed a GED in the state of California
  • Degree Level:

  • Must be pursuing first Bachelor's or Associate's degree
  • Financial Aid:

  • Must complete the 2026-27 FAFSA or CSAC financial aid application (if applicable) by April 3, 2026
