Summary

The MND Association offers Biomedical Project Grants to support research on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and related conditions. These grants aim to enhance understanding of MND causes, mechanisms, and treatment strategies. Eligible projects should be unique and involve collaboration with UK institutions. Funding is limited to £95,000 per annum for non-London institutes and £100,000 for London institutes, with a total project cap of £285,000 and £300,000 respectively. Applications require a detailed summary and annual progress reports.

Overview

NOTE: All interested applicants are first required to submit a summary application (See Pre-proposal deadline above), and successful candidates are then invited to submit a full application. Biomedical Project Grants The MND Association supports biomedical research on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and related conditions, in all relevant disciplines. The objectives of the MND Association research funding programme are to support research aimed at understanding the causes of MND, elucidating disease mechanisms and facilitating the translation of therapeutic strategies from the laboratory to the clinic. The Association only supports work carried out in bona fide research institutions. Purpose of the Association's Project Grants The essential purpose of the grant is to support a single project, ie a piece of work designed to answer a single question or a small group of related questions. Such support will usually be of limited duration and applications of up to three years will be considered. Applications for less than two years must include a named researcher with the relevant expertise, familiar with the laboratory. The continuation of a grant within this period will be subject to annual review after the submission of a progress report, which is required at the completion of each year of the project. Funding Applications for project grants for non-London Institutes should not exceed £95,000 per annum (and £285,000 in total) without the prior agreement of the MND Association. Applications for project grants for London Institutes should not exceed £100,000 per annum (and £300,000 in total) without the prior agreement of the MND Association
